Preparing for College Starts Before Freshman Year
The transition from high school to college is about much more than choosing classes and moving into a dorm. College requires students to manage their own schedules, keep track of deadlines, communicate with professors, and navigate daily responsibilities with far less structure and support than they may be used to. For students with ADHD, this sudden increase in independence can feel overwhelming.
The good news is that these skills can be learned before college begins. Through ADHD coaching, students develop the executive functioning skills needed for a successful transition, including time management, organization, planning, self-advocacy, and effective study habits. By building these systems during high school, students enter college with greater confidence, stronger routines, and a personalized toolbox of strategies that can help them thrive both academically and personally.
